FUNDRAISING

Among other responsibilities, our board members play a key role in raising funds for ZGiRLS. It is an expectation of board service that you will introduce people in your sphere of influence to our work and invite them to know and do more – as prospective volunteers, board members, staff and as donors.

ZGiRLS commits to providing you with the information and tools necessary for you to stand as a vocal and visible ambassador for our work.

Further, we expect every board member to make a financial commitment for each year of board service that represents one of the most significant annual donations you make.

TIME

Board service is a true commitment of time and energy. We estimate that board service could be a commitment of 4 to 6 hours each month, which includes:

  • Virtual ZGiRLS Program session [1 hr] once per year

  • March/April Fundraising event in Seattle, WA

  • Annual Board retreat (Sept or Oct weekend day) in Seattle, WA

  • Virtual board meetings: First Wednesday of the month from 6-8pm PST [2 hr] in the following months: Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec

  • Virtual board committees: Monthly [1 hr] scheduled by committee

COMMITMENT TO INCLUSION

ZGiRLS is deeply committed to building a Board that reflects the diversity of the girls and communities we serve. The following questions are optional and will not be used to evaluate your candidacy. You are being given the opportunity to provide the following information in order to help us understand who is represented on our Board and where we may need to be more intentional in outreach and inclusion.
